Why Use Violet Glass?

Our aim is to offer products with exceptional quality with respect to ingredients, potency, aroma, color, storage life and other important criteria. At Esente we strive to develop and package products in such a way that the special quality and efficacy is completely and fully maintained throughout a product’s extended shelf life.

Comparable packaging materials limit this requirement as they are not sufficiently able to protect sensitive ingredients from the quality lessening influences of light. Apothecary grade violet glass offers a unique advantage by maintaining the value of our Elite products at the same high level as they were when manufactured.

Functionality

The sun emits visible and invisible light parts. The visible spectrum becomes discernable to our eyes when white light is channeled through a glass prism. At the same time though, light also contains a part which is invisible to our eyes and lies in the radius of electromagnetic wavelengths of infra-red and UV-A.

Esente Skincare formulations are rooted in the use of natural organic ingredients and marine peptides which develop and grow in much the same way as land grown botanicals. Sunlight enables all plants to grow. If they continue to be exposed to the sun after reaching maturity, the effect of the light changes and accelerates the molecular decaying process. Violet Glass works like a natural filter that only lets in the sunlight that protects and improves the quality of premium and sensitive substances.

Miron Violet Glass blocks the complete spectrum of visible light with the exception of the violet part. At the same time it allows a certain part to be permeable for radiation in the spectral range of UV-A, and infra-red light. This unique combination offers optimal protection against the aging processes that are released by visible light, thus lengthening durability and potency of our unique products. While in order to meet quality requirements our glass containers are refined with the Cold End and Hot End coating method.

Over the last few years, several scientific tests have been carried out to see what protective quality Miron Violet Glass offers. Testing has been undertaken with cosmetic grade natural ingredients, marine peptides such as spirulina algae (Astaxanthin), as well as numerous other natural substances.

Since 2008, our violet glass manufacturer in Switzerland together with scientists from Germany have been undertaking different tests to analyze the quality of honey which has been preserved in Violet Glass. The main focus of attention was the analysis of the active ingredient that inhibits the growth of seeds, and the aroma in honey. A definite conclusion is that the honey stored in Miron Violet Glass does not break down its ingredients, but actually conserves the taste, aroma, color, structure and enzymes, considerably better than in any other receptacles known or used until now.

The main point of bio-photonic research is the application of the characteristics of light on food production, pharmacy, bio-technology, cosmetics and medicine. We all understand that sunlight enables plants to grow, however the effect of the sun’s light changes after harvesting, accelerating the molecular decaying process. 

Apothecary grade violet glass is an antioxidant glass that works essentially like a natural filter. Bio-vitality and aromas are improved by allowing in 3 very specific frequencies of light that have been found to nurture and protect all natural substances. Those being, visible violet light, non-visible UVA and Far-Infrared light. The human eye can see the rainbow spectrum of colors, with violet at one end and red at the opposite. Beyond these two colors go the Ultraviolet and Infrared spectrums of non-visible light. Violet glassware is black in appearance, yet truly violet, and is only penetrable in the visible range to the violet frequency of light, hence its perceived black color.
